The SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) represents a transformative project that included a full historic renovation and the addition of a new floor within an existing 30,000-square-foot building that had been unused for more than fifty years. Beyond revitalizing the original structure, the project expanded the facility by 22,000 square feet to accommodate a range of new features, including a welcoming lobby, educational classrooms, administrative offices, a cafe, and a state-of-the-art 120-seat planetarium. This expansion and renovation effort has breathed new life into the space, turning a long-vacant building into a vibrant center for learning and discovery.
