Darryl Vasko’s journey in the electrical sector began at the young age of 14, working part-time at his uncle’s shop, Vasko Electric, in Ohio. After completing high school, he transitioned from the shop to the field, dedicating himself to wiring houses and apartment buildings. Fueled by the dream of owning his own electrical contractor business, Darryl moved to Sacramento at 21. By the age of 25, after acquiring his C-10 electrical license, he established his own business in February 1982.
Starting small, Darryl built his company on the pillars of hard work, long hours, exemplary service, and strong client relationships. As a self-taught entrepreneur, he knew that dedication to clients and relentless effort would pave the way for lasting success. Over 43 years, his commitment has not only shaped his personal career but also established Vasko Electric as a leading name in the Sacramento region, consistently ranking among the top 12 electrical contractors for 34 consecutive years.
Darryl’s success spans various sectors including commercial, industrial, medical, and more recently, cellular antennas and tower work. In 2014, the expansion continued with the opening of a Vasko Electric office in Reno, NV, extending the company’s reputation through an exceptional management team.
An advocate for professional development, Darryl has contributed significantly to training the next generation of electrical professionals. His involvement with WECA and ABC for over three decades underscores his commitment to the industry and its future. Grateful for the collaboration with both past and present teams, Darryl appreciates the long-standing relationships with employees, many of whom have been with Vasko Electric for over 30 years, and with contractors, some dating back to the company’s inception in 1982.
Andrew Vasko’s path in the electrical industry is defined by strong dedication and growth, influenced significantly by his father’s legacy. At the age of 14, Andrew started part-time work at Vasko Electric, igniting his strong interest in building and construction. This initial experience set the stage for his career.
By 22, Andrew’s dedication led him to become an apprentice with the Western Electrical Contractors Association, starting a key phase in his career development. Over five years, he rigorously developed his skills and became a Certified Journeyman, prepared to meet bigger challenges in the field.
With a robust background in electrical work, Andrew smoothly transitioned to leadership roles. He began leading projects as a Foreman, showcasing his ability to manage and lead effectively. His expertise and leadership skills then moved him into an office role as a Project Engineer, where he further honed his project management skills.
Recognizing the critical importance of customer satisfaction and service, Andrew stepped into the role of Project Manager. He carried with him a strong commitment to customer care, a principle he knew was essential for long-term success.
Beyond his work at Vasko Electric, Andrew is dedicated to influencing the future of the construction and electrical sectors. He is involved in mentoring and training the next generation of workers, reflecting his commitment to the industry’s growth. This commitment is also evident in his roles on the Board of Directors for both the Associated Builders and Contractors of Northern California and the California state chapter, where he advocates for excellence, safety, and professionalism.
